F1(OPT)->F2

I am working in a company now with my OPT. But I have to change to F2 after middle of august. Right now I am preparing the material for that based on my company's lawyer. My question is do I need to ask my hu*****and to get a I-20 for me(as his dependent)? My company's lawyer did not mention that. He just wants my hu*****and's F-1 visa and I-94, I-20 for himself. So I am confused now.
