your status is called AOS

AOS= adjustment of status. That's pretty common when someone's I485 is pending. Show them your I485 receipt and your I140 approval. Shouldn't be a problem. People under AOS are allowed to stay legally in the States without a valid non-immigrant visa status. Got it? Take it easy.
