HELP!!! about H4 visa!!!

I recently changed from J1 to H1 in the US. My wife changed from J2 to H4. My wife will go back to China to apply for a H4 visa. I will stay in the US. So there is not a H1 visa in my passport, although I am in H1 status. Will this affect my spouse's H4 visa application? Thank you very much.
