485 filed on 7/2, still not received receipt notice

My case was filed on 7/2 but still have not received my receipt notice, my lawyer checked and said my check has not been cashed and that USCIS have transferred a significant amount of cases to the Texas Service Center for processing, just want to check and see if anyone else is in the same situation, is this normal and is there anything I can do about it?
