我进这个学校, 修先修课程, 而不是完成这个ASSOCIATE DEGREE, 会不是是问题。
- I don't think you're obligated to complete it.

Since you're dependent, USCIS is checking any violation of your status. They may think your such change from Ph.D to Associate is kind of suspicious.
