They usually do it soon after they receive the request.
do not worry. I got mine quickly, and got final approval from INS within 2 weeks after i got the receipt. if you like, talk to Dr. Richard Affleck at the
Foreign Agriculture Service in USDA. he is nice but you need to call him instead of emailing. Check his phone number at the USDA directory. I do not remember it any more. hope this helps.
