Ask again. Question on I485 processing...tks!

Eg: Sep. VB for EB2 is 1/1/06, my priority date is before 1/1/06. I submitted I485 in July. How my case will be processed? Will they start process or wait until my PD is current on VB? When a visa number be assigned to my case? Very confused. Please help. Tks!
