H1 transfer

I need your help in answering H1 transfer questions if you can, many thanks.

1. Possibility of h1 transfer from non-profit (university) to profit (company): Yes or No;
If yes, Continue:

2. Any risk during transfering? how to reduce the risk?

2.1) If approved, that's ok.

2.2) If denied, losing the current job and having to leave the US? It's said that I can work for another employer during the process of the transfer application. True or False?
If true, obviously, there is a risk in working for a 2nd employer prior to the approval of the transfer.

2.3) Any possibility of extending the H1 visa (maximum 3 years) during the transfer?

3. Can someone file more than one H1 transfer at the same time, when he is in great need of a job? since he doesn't know which one will be approved.
