I just received my I-485 receipt. Received date is July 2, 2007 and notice date is August 13, 2007. My checks are not cashed.
Receipt notice says:
"This notice confirms that USCIS received your application or petition as shown above. This notice does not grant any immigration status or benefit. It is not even evidence that this case is still pending. It only shows that the aplication or petition was filed on the date shown"
My questions are:
1. " It is not even evidence that this case is still pending." Is it a standard statement or only applied to those 485 applications filed after July 2?
2. Is it safe for me to go back to China now? I'm H-1.
3. Am I eligible to take "post- 485 application" benefits? such as freely transferring job 6 months after the receipt date?
