Don't worry too much! I bet most Post-docs are just like you. My suggestion: find a good laywer to evaluate your case. If chances are too small, there is nothing wrong to quit academic and join in a small company for LC. Hopefully, you are married and one of you can afford a risky small company. Good luck!
