to them in Beijing, it seems it's quite easy to get a new passport there. But I still have the concern that the new passport would have some bad effects on my green card application. You see I've been waiting years for it, and I'm afraid of anything that would change its course (even it's a little hypothetical). Btw, do I need to inform INS of the passport change for GC application purpose? What else do I need to do?
