Teacher Xiaobaitu and Pjiang: Will AP application trigger the NC

Just wondering if it does, maybe submit an AP application can make FBI to start NC earlier?

I heard that EAD application will trigger the NC process. So I guess this is a benifit in applying for EAD now.. Am I right?
