yes, they send NC request to FBI right after receiving your I-485, not necessary after your FP done.

We filed I-485 on July 2004, my wife NC cleared a week later, my still .....
we had first FP on April 2005(almost 1 yrs after I-485 filed), second FB last month, so FP and NC are totally different check.
