F1最后一个学期做论文. 可以不在学校附近住吗?

我因为要生孩子.所以住在加州的家里. 可是学校international officer说fall要住学校附近. 学校在密苏里. 不知道是不是移民局真的有这样的规定?带着孩子飞来飞去很麻烦.
