If AP is very important to you, you should submit it before July 30. If not, you don't want to submit 485 with a >60% possibility that 140 will not be approved. Just my own opinion. I didn't file my I-485 with my wife before the Oct. 2005 deadline because I didn't plan to go to China in 2006.
