My hu*****and will work for a school.

I want to apply for H4 because I don't want to work until next year. My plan is to start looking for a position in school now, but try to begin to work January next year. six month will be about right to get my H1 visa. This way, I can save my OPT time in case I need it after another school in the future (hopefuly not). But I just don't know if it is a good idea. What do you think? Thanks again!
