Question about B2 extension for my parents

I'd like to extend my parents B2 visa. My question is: if the i-539 application is rejected, once I receive the noitce, do my parents have to leave US immediately? Considering the fact that I need to change their flight, is there any grace period for them to remain in US legally, a couple days or weeks?
