We even never think it should be an issue. For the first few years, my wife didn't work, but we have join account, join credit card (joint owner for our house, at that time, she still study, and I paid most of her tuition), we paid everything for our parents to visit here twice, always assuming it is our responsibility. Maybe we have more trouble(actually still pending) to get greencard than her, but she never need to worry about, all she need to do is signing her signatures for all kind of forms.

I believe there are many many other Chinese couples like us.
