I missed I-485 time, so how should I do now?

Last month when we still had chance to file I-485, my attorney advised me to file family based (my hu*****and is citizen)... I was a kind of hesitate, and spent too much time thinking... finally I decided still use employment base, since I did not want to waste Perm & I-140 (approved), plus all the legal fees (Paid by employer) ... Late June, I asked my employer paid the attorney fee for I-485 (employment base), but I have not got time prepare, then I found we could not file I-485 anymore. I was so regret..

If I choose to wait until October, is it possible to file at that time (my PD is 04/2006)? Do you think I should change to family base?

I hate myself, I wasted too much time think nothing...
