EAD-how many times during 485

Hi,there,who knows how many time EAD can be renewed during the 485 pending period? Initially I heard that 3 times are maximum. However, I also heard EAD can be renewed as many times as needed until your 485 is approved. Can anyone shed some light on that? Thanks.
