Is there any progress on my case based on USCIS' responses?

The recent letter from USCIS in responding my call said "Your application is currentyl undergoing security checks". The letter from three month agao said "A check of our records establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required investigation into your background remains open". Is there any progress based on the two different answers?
