clarification about ac21:
it's the best to switch job 180 days after 485 receipt date. then you're okay even if your company revoke 140.

as long as your 485 is not processed within 180 days, you're okay even if you are laid off/fired/decide to stay home

if your 485 is processed within 180 days, then you are not okay if you are issued rfe regarding evl. your 485 could be denied if you couldn't provide most recent paystub and/or evl. However, you don't have to provide every single paystub between your 485 receipt date and 485 approval date. As long as you have permanent position and most recent paystub(s) when you are issued rfe, you are fine.

So, if your 485 is not touched or processed (which is very likely after July)there is still big chance that you will still get your 485 approved.

If your 485 is not touched in 180 days and you have another job, then you file ac21. After that, nobody cares if you have employment gap.

you are always legal because you are under aos. also, in practice, many people got H1B extension after 3 month employment gap.
