stupid question on visa number

I-485 page 2 part 3 requires nonimmigration visa number. I looked at my visas. All of them had one control number in black and another number in red color at the annotation area. Which one should I use? If it's the control number, should I read the zero with a forward slash cross it as the number zero or the letter O? I know this sounds stupid. But you will see what I mean if you don't mind looking at your US visa issued in China. Thanks in advance!
