Question about the deductions of salary.

At present I am holding a H1b visa. Since I began to work for this company, there are two more deductions (OASDI and Medicare) from my salary in addition to FIT and SIT(state and federal taxes).
I know the last two deductions are normal. Should we pay the first two deductions before we get green cards? Are they required by law?
