护照半个月后过期，我还可以进入美国吗

六月二十号回国，七月中回美，护照八月初过期。我持有绿卡，这样可以入境吗？
LG要我先重办护照再走人，说需要六个月有效期。我这两天不想抽时间去纽约，并且在网上看新护照不能当天取件。

我可以回来再重办护照吗。有没有哪个网页（电话）我可以得到相关信息。
