family registry= 户口本?? Xiao BaiTu

but when we went to college in another city, our 户口 were transferred to the city where the colleges are in.

then it followed with our work .
so my parents' 户口本does not have my name in it anymore.
USCIS wants 户口本 which has my parents names and mine in it, so that 户口本 could serve something like a birth certificate.


OK.
I guess to sum up, I have two questions?
1.户口本 = family registry??
2. how to solve this paradox of my parents;s 户口本 does not my name?
