Once I asked a lawyer, since I'd already changed to O-1,and I still had three years valid status, was it possible to get a J1 IGA waiver? He said that changing into an O-1 should be a plus. That means you are needed.

I started my IGA waiver when I held O-1 visa satus.

I asked DHHS to send me an application package, then started from there. They are very responsive. But I don't have their website now. It seems that it doesn't work any more.
