急！做PostDoc已6个月，今天才知道系里还没有将我的H1

申请材料递上去，而OPT将在半年后过期。请问现在申请H1B还来得及吗？另外，140递上去之后，在被approve或reject之前，没有其他身份滞留在美国是否illegal？拜请各位大侠指点迷津。叩首。
