XiaoBaiTu and others please!Parents' visitors visa extension

application--we mailed out the application a month ago but haven't got even a receipt in the mail. I only have the certified mail receipt. Is this normal? Their visas expires today. Is it ok if later USCIS doesn't approve the extension? Their extension application was approved five years ago and they returned to China several months before the extension expired.
