opt and H1 and gap, 好心人帮忙看看

我现在opt, 八月底过期。 我现在开始HI申请，不占名额的那种。要是我八月底拿不到hi,是不是就只能在家呆着等了。要是我过了grace time还拿不到，我是不是只能回国了。

另外我老公也是H1, 实在不行我是不是就转成H4.但那时我h1申请已经递上去了，那hi申请不就作废了吗？我该怎么办呢？
