B-2 visa, which is expired several years ago.


Do you mean they entered US and continuously in B2 status for over two years? If yes, don't risk it. There are chances border officers may actually look at their passport visa and admission stamp and will raise questions.
If you mean the first extension (one year since entry with B visa stamp), then it is OK.
