您对AGI的理解有误

AGI可以用来计算deduction，但不可以再倒过来。在您的例子中，您的$5，000律师费中有$4，200是可以减税的（如果您在1040 Schedule A的总额超过standard deduction的话）。AGI从此以后跟Deduction就没关系了。具体请参见1040 Instructions中关于AGI的解释。
