according to my understanding, once you have an approved LC, you need to 140 and have a receipt then you can extend your H1. even if your 140 approved, as long as your 485 pending, you can still extend your H1 on a yearly basis. But, if your 140 is denied for any reason, you can't extend H1 any more.Hope this helps
