Xiaobaitu and other experts: Please help

I got my green card, but my wife's 485 is still pending. She got her new EAD that will be expired next June. She suppose to extend her H1B this coming June, but she withdrew it (since she has EAD). The question is if her 485 were rejected, then she is not legal to stay in USA, is that correct? Is it possible that will happen?
