I can tell you some information on US-Canad on Seattle-Vancouver.

I do not think you can get your passport stamped, if you drive to Canada. There are no US border officer on the direction from US to Canada. The first officer you will meet is Canada Boarder officer. They do not stamp you passport.

If you drive a US car, and return back from Vancouver, you may be caught. US immigration officer will ask you whose car are you driving, and where you are living right now.
