请教xiaobaitu,两分钱等热心人about 485 transfer

My EB1b I-140 was just approved. I filed I-485 concurrently with my NIW I-140 in 2005 which is still pending. My NIW petition was through a lawyer (sighed G-28, contract, etc.). Now I'd like to transfer my filed I-485 from NIW (pending) to EB1b (approved). My question is: Can I MYSELF request the I-485 transfer? Or I have to request the transfer through my lawyer (since he is representing me with the original I-485 filing)?
