Should I renew my H1-B after I got EAD during 485 pending?

It's about the time to renew my H1-B for the first time (3 year). However, my attorney told me there is no need to renew since I've already ted my 485. I saw many cases here that asked for H1-B renew questions during 485 pending. Was my attorney wrong on this?
