Try to get things to be clear...
A J-1 holder whose research project was over, left the us before the end of the grace period;
One month later then, he re-entered the us using the two-entry visa;
Another 5 months passed till now, he got an offer for master student.
Question:
1. How long you think he was illegal?
2. Can he transfer from J-1 to F-1 in the us or a third country?
3. Can he transfer from J-1 scholar to J-1 student in the us?
4. What chance he could get a F-1 visa if he go back to china?
Thanks a lot.
J-1 to F-1
