Contact Revenue Canada and file a form to determine your residency status in Canada. They have website. You can either file a tax return for non-resident or not file if you don't have income from Canada.

I don't believe immigration Canada shares data with Revenue Canada about your stay in Canada. So don't worry about that. The way you prove you stayed in Canada including letters you received at a Canadian address, drivers license, rental lease, utility bills ...
