H4 only given 2 months to stay

when entered US. i know the expired date should be the same with H1.i told this to immigrant officer in airport but he didn't listen to me and let me go local INS office to change.local INS said I should file I-102 and I-539 to extend it.i checked I-102.it seems to use for replace I94 and to correct wrong information.

my question is: do i need file both I-102 and I539 or just I539? I-102($100),I-539($140). anyone has experience or any sugestions? thanks in advance.
