I don't think that you lost your orginal approval notice

will cause a big problem,if you want to get new one,fill the I-824 form to apply replace,fee is $200,& need about 6 months.
You may translate for your family member,but if CIS doubt your translation,they may record the interview,& hire another interpreter to listen after interview.
