I think your kid needs to have FP done. My friend's two-year old son got FP notice even though he didn't file biometrics. Every I-485 is an individual case, so your son FP notice may come later. There are two reasons for FP. One is for background check (adult and 14 year old kid), another is for GC (every one). GC must bear FP.
