disappointing news on PERM

Department Of Labor Update

The Department of Labor (DOL) recently indicated that its long anticipated PERM program, which once implemented promises to reduce the processing time in most labor certification cases to 15 days, will not be in place until late this year. This is disappointing news because the processing of both traditional and Reduction In Recruitment labor certification applications is proceeding at a glacial pace in most DOL regions. Implementation by late Spring had been anticipated. Those who have been anxiously waiting for PERM to apply for labor certification should not because there is no telling when, or even if ever, the PERM program will be in place.
