FP问题，恭请小白兔，mytwocents 等高人答疑。

My situation:

EB2, 140/485 filed on Aug.2005, 140 approved on Feb. 2006, 485 updated once on Aug. 2006, but without any information. The Weird thing is I haven't got the FP notice since I filed my 485.
I contacted INS local office twice, and was told " FP is good for 15 months, you may get the notice when we start to process your case". I read some valuable postings, indicating FP is the first step of background check, then does that mean actually my backgroud check has not been started? I am getting more and more worried about it, just don't know whatelse I can do except just waiting, million thanks to all repliers.
