XiaoBaiTu and other experts: a problem after J2 changed to H4

My friend changed her status from J2 to H4 already. The expired data for J2 is Dec. 31 (also her EAD has same expired data with her J2 status, Dec. 31) and her H4 start data is Dec. 15. Her question is if she can work in this a half month from Dec.15 to Dec 31. She has very good job and salary that is why she doesn't want to give up it even a half month. If she work, is there any problem? Please give some suggestion.
