Canada Immigration: Please help for one more question

Canada Immigration was approved and ask to send passports to stamp. My hun*****and's passport will expired early next year. He wants to change a new passport.
Can he send the new passport to Buffalo or he has to send his old one?

Does anybody have the same problem? Please let me know.
