1. you need to mail your new DS-2019 to DOS ASAP if you want to make sure everything is Ok.

2. Usually, you may get your recommendation letter from DOS in 3-4 months. For your case, you may fax DOS to inquire your case status and remind them your case has been there for 5 months.
