medical costs (disputed) on pending I-485

We have about a thousand disputed dollars with a clinic. The doctor was not responsible, we just feel so frustrated to pay what he want. We are worried about the possilbe effect on our I-485. If there is negative effec, we may need to pay what ever.
Anyone have similar experience,or knowelage. Please share.
