please help, Xiaobaitu

I am holding H4 visa, and my hu*****and's I-140 was filed on Januanry 2006, Up to now, we have not heard anything about
his I-140. I am planning to go to China on December, but worried about getting a new H4 visa in Beijing for returing. because I have changed many different visa status in USA from F2, to F1, to H1 and H4 right now. I have no idea about if I need to get a H4 visa in Maxico, or waitting for Ap after I-140 approved, or getting a visa in China. Can you please give me your suggestion for this?
