5.5 Months to get approved, 4.5 months got RFE.

You have to keep this in mind:
After your school issued I-20 to you, the SEVIS status was initial, but this status will expire in 60 days, if your F1 has not been processed within 60 days, SEVIS status will become invalid, and then CIS will send RFE to ask you to go to school to fix SEVIS first, then you have to wait for another month to get approved.

That was our experience.
